Marnie Dillon
Marnie Dillon is a family violence specialist and brings to DART Group over 15 years of experience and expertise through varying roles across the family and domestic violence sector. Prior to Marnie’s career within family domestic violence, she held a long-standing position within the defence force.
Marnie brings a wealth of knowledge having worked across government departments such as the Department of Communities ensuring best practice and outcomes for children’s safety and wellbeing. A large component of Marnie’s work was supporting children affected by family domestic violence. A highlight in Marnie’s career within the Department was the successful response-based work she provided to discrete Indigenous communities throughout the Northern Territory, Victoria and Western Australia.
During her time working with family violence services across jurisdictions, Marnie has provided consultation to peak bodies. In addition, Marnie has supported multidisciplinary teams, supported policy and legislation reform and sat within the following teams across Australia:
Victoria’s Risk Assessment and Management Panel (‘RAMP’), a formally convened meeting of local agencies, including the Police and response organisations, conducting multi-agency risk assessments of people at high risk of serious harm from family violence.
The Domestic and Family Violence Network (The Network). Northern Territory links government and non-government organisations working in Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) in the Greater Darwin and regional Northern Territory.
The Western Australian Family and Domestic Violence Response Team (FDVRT) model a partnership between the Department of Communities, Western Australia Police Force, and the community sector.
Marnie has a passion for working with youth. After leading and delivering some of the state’s best out of home care and residential therapeutic care programs, Marnie has spent her career specialising in child and adolescent violence. Marnie’s unique specialist skills combines therapeutic and trauma informed training, neuroscience, response based and best practice to her work with children and adolescents. Most recently, Marnie has successfully developed and delivered a 10-week family violence informed program to a regional school with immense success. The program aims to empower young people to understand positive, respectful, and safe behaviours and relationships whilst providing young people life skills involving effective communication, healthy relationships and emotion regulation. As an independent consultant, Marnie continues to provide family domestic and sexual violence informed consultations, training, project and well-being work across the state through her consultancy: Southwest Social Work Consultancy and Coaching.
Marnie has completed a Bachelor of Social Work and a Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Management. Marnie is also a certified practicing Myers Briggs Practitioner.
